Phil has been practising as a physiotherapist since 2013. When he isn't treating sports injuries he works at Lions Gate Hospital in acute care. Phil specializes in acute sport-related injuries, post-operative management of knees, hips and shoulders, and since he has been a white-water kayaker since the age of 13, he knows a thing or 2 about shoulders.
Phil has an impressive academic CV: he holds a bachelors degree in kinesiology from St. Francis Xavier University, a Masters in Biomechanics and a Masters in Physiotherapy from Queen's University, and in 2023 officially became Dr. Sheppard by obtaining his doctorate in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. When he isn't plunging himself in the closest glacier-fed river, Phil enjoys photography, whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, weight lifting, trail running and hiking with his doggo. He also enjoys spending time with his fiance…Jenny Dea ;)
